India-Down but not Out

Yee yaa India...aaya India! This is humming inside a billion Indians.Where the whole one billion Indians come, one can easily guess that I am talking of Cricket.A country where cricket is considered to be a religion is nothing less passionate about the cricketers who are the Gods of Indian Cricket. Now that our heros are performing miserably in South Africa with world cup just days away everybody in the country is livid. But is it proper to curse our heros when they need our support the most. The kind of performance put up by our stars at the bouncy pithes in South Africa clearly reemphasizes the dismal fact that the Indians cannot negotiate with sheer pace and bounce. But its not the first time that India is facing such problem.Time and again India has failed to perform on foreign wickets which assist pace and bounce. But still the Indian batting line up is considered the best in the world with the likes of Sachin and Dravid in the side.So is this a rare lean patch that the team is going through or is there some kind of conspiracy going on within the team.Being just a passionate follower I am not in a position to conclude anything except that its not the kind of performace we associate with our cricketers. Not that India have always failed on bouncy tracks.Looking back we can see performaces by India in England(The Headingly Test), the tour of Australia(2003-04) and many others.Questions are being put up against the coaching of Mr. Greg Chappell and captaincy of Mr.Rahul Dravid. In a way both Greg and Rahul are similar in nature hard worker, tough and meticulous. But are these enough to take a team away from the distressful situation and consolidate?Questions will be asked time and again. But its upto the maestros to hit back with answers not by words but by performances.

Down but surely not out... The next few weeks will give a clearer picture. While it is unmistakably wrong to blame just the coach or the captain for a defeat, it all boils down to the mental strength of the players. Here is another view of the same...
